Ken Roberts - - Bicycling WebMapsWe found the Touring Club Italiano 1:200000 maps to be very helpful for road bicycling. Unlike some other maps we tried, they distinguish between dirt and paved roads. We found it convenient to purchase them in the form of a book, Atlante stradale d'Italia (three volumes for the whole country: North, Central, South). GuidebooksWe have not yet found much in English. That's one reason we put up these web pages. Garfagnana by bicycle, by Lucia + Bruno Giovanetti. Road and mountain bike touring in the rather hilly Alpi Apuane area in northern Tuscany a bit east of La Spezia (a ways WNW from Florence) more . . .For days when you're not bicycling: Walking in Italy, by Helen Gillman and others. Lonely Planet, 1998.
