the Rondout Creek waterfront has lots of food + sightseeing options. This point can be reached from Bikely map "New Paltz to Kingston waterfront loop - sec 1 [bhvw10a]" this turn comes just after passing underneath a railroad track. to avoid riding on the shoulder of rt 9W (high-speed high-traffic) can turn Right on 1st Ave and go north on that until it rejoins the route on Route 32 North. get onto route 9W North (lots of high-speed traffic) and ride on the reasonably wide shoulder [as of 2008].
